Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem urged President Trump to block entry “from every damn country flooding our nation with killers, parasites, and freeloaders.” Millions of immigrants and green-card holders could be affected.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem told President Donald Trump on Monday that she recommends a full entry ban on “every damn country that’s flooding our nation with killers, parasites, and freeloaders.”

Multiple officials told CBS News and CNN that the administration is considering expanding the current list of 19 restricted countries to approximately 30 nations.

The countries currently subject to full or partial entry restrictions include:Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Congo (Republic), Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela.

If the list is expanded, the impact will be massive — particularly for green-card holders and families already living in the United States.

According to internal estimates, the most affected groups include:

  • 1,000,000+ Cuban green-card holders

  • 700,000 Venezuelan immigrants

  • 500,000 Haitian immigrants

  • 400,000 Iranian immigrants

Any expansion of the ban would dramatically affect family reunification, humanitarian programs, visa processing, and lawful immigration pathways.
