USCIS has announced a major policy change: starting October 27, 2025, the agency will no longer accept paper checks for any immigration filing fees. All payments must now be made electronically, using:
Form G-1650 (ACH Authorization – bank account payment)
Form G-1450 (Credit Card Authorization)
Exceptions exist only where USCIS explicitly allows alternative payment methods.
What Applicants Need to Know
When submitting any USCIS form, applicants must now:
include a separate G-1650 or G-1450 for every required fee,
ensure all payment details are accurate,
verify that the transaction processes successfully — otherwise the entire filing may be rejected.
The shift to mandatory electronic payments aims to reduce delays, prevent errors, and streamline USCIS operations. However, it also adds complexity for applicants submitting multiple forms at once.
